That was close!!

The Mens S&D League season came down to the last game. This had been delayed for a number of weeks as the first game was cancelled due to heavy rain.

On a good evening for weather, we played Marlborough Bowls Club needing 7 points to avoid relegation. In a very tense game over a revised 15 ends, due to nights getting darker, we won on two rinks of the four. Thanks to the two winning rinks getting more shots than we lost on the losing rinks we got the overall points as well. We won 10 points and avoided relegation.

PHEW, WELL DONE ALL.

Very Sad News

It is with deep regret and sadness that I have to report the sudden death of Peter Hughes. Peter suffered a heart attack on Tuesday 13th December 2011.

Peter will be greatly missed by all who knew him in the club and in his life.

The funeral will be held at the Cremetorium on Wednesday 28th December @ 2:30pm.

Competition's Update

All the competition lists have been updated along with the Honours Board.

Hopefully next year this will be changed more frequently.

Good luck to all those who have made it through to the finals.

Congratulations

Congratulations on promotions for the men's afternoon league teams A and C.

Team C have won the division 5, whilst the A team finished in 2nd position in division 4. Well done to all teams for a good season.

UPDATE:

Today (30th Aug) the D team have won division 6 and go up as champions. Well done all.

Charity Day

A great day was had by all that took part in our Charity day. Due to the hard work by Mark and Sandra Richman the day went by without any hitch. I would personally like to thank Mark and Sandra for all they did to raise £485 towards our two charities. Half will be going to Willows Counselling and half to VIBE (Visually Impaired Bowlers of England).

The only winner on the day was the club and the money raised for the two charities. Thanks again to all involved.
